Cardboard Confessions

I’ve never really thought about it but I haven’t posted many pictures other than the images I shoot for clients. Every so often I get a chance to go out and photograph something other than people just for myself.
Photography is a passion for me, but every so often I lose sight of that and forget to take time out to do something just for me. I actually have a pretty good archive of images that nobody other than my wife has ever seen. So with that thought in mind I decided that I would occasionally post some images from my personal collection.
If you are so inclined I would love to get comments back on some of the images that get posted.
This image is a P-51 Mustang one of the fieriest aircraft to fly for the Allies in World War II. There is an amazing history behind the P-51. I had uncles who worked on these airplanes in WWII, I would encourage you to take a few minutes to learn the history of this wonderful aircraft. If you ever have the pleasure to hear one of these fly overhead it is an experience you will never forgot.
This image was shot last summer at the Gathering of Mustangs and Legends at Rickenbacker Airport in Columbus, Ohio.

Today is Father’s day so to all you father’s out there, Happy Father’s Day!
I got to sleep inn today which is something I haven’t done for quite a while! Then I got to have lunch with two of my brothers, my mom, my beautiful daughter and wife. We went to O’Charleys for lunch. We had lots of fun there.
My girls got me a Nintendo DS Lite

And two games “The Simpsons”

And “Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Creed”

Now we are sitting down to watch Snow Dogs! What a great day!
My loving wife and daughter got me a really cool Father’s Day gift. A brand new Bike from the Cyclists Connection in Canal Winchester, Ohio. They got me a Giant Cypress DX bike. I will be riding on The Blacklick Trail most of the time. I feel like I’m a kid again when I’m riding. So much fun. Here is a picture of my new toy from the Giant website. I need to go out and take my own photo sometime.

Great shot that Marshall McPeek from NBC4 in Columbus took on 6/12/08 from Broad Street looking down on Rt. 315. Image is copyrighted by Marshall McPeek, used by permission.

Ok this is just amazing. How anybody has time to figure out something like this is beyond me.

Excuse me if I just pop in to vent a few emotions for a minute. Yesterday 3/28/2008 my brother-in-law passed away very unexpectedly. He was diagnosed this week with pulmonary arterial hypertension and he died today. We had a roller coaster day where it looked like he would pull through, and then suddenly he was gone. As some of you may know he did some of my retouching work for me when we were at our busiest. He was a school teacher for special needs children but the disease made it impossible for him to work with them any longer, if only we would have found out earlier perhaps we could have done something. His wife of only 3 years is also a school teacher for special needs children in middle school. Together after many trials and tribulations they were able to give birth to a heathy little baby boy who is now 9 months old. I brought Colin in and taught him how to do the retouching I did, so that he could make some money for the family and have an opportunity to stay home and be with his baby boy. Today my heart is aching as he was taken away from his wife and little boy much too soon. I am trying so hard to come to grips with this but in many ways his death is much harder for me to deal with than that of my own father. I know that he is in a much better place now and that his pain and suffering is gone and for that I am thankful. I just hope that I and our family can teach his baby boy what a wonderful man his father was.Anyway I just needed to post on here to try and ease my pain a little bit. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to just sit down and write for a minute.
